Fire Outbreak at Dangote Petroleum Refinery Lekki

A fire has erupted at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in the Lekki Free Zone near Lagos, Nigeria. The cause of the blaze is currently unknown. Videos shared on social media show thick, dark smoke rising from one of the tank storage areas. The refinery, which began refining diesel, has a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day and was inaugurated on May 22, 2023.
