
Confucius Institute Coming to University of Abuja
The University of Abuja is set to establish a Confucius Institute to promote Chinese language and culture, as announced by its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Aisha Maikudi. This follows a visit from a delegation of students and faculty from China's Tsinghua University.
The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the university's existing partnership with China and expressed enthusiasm for increased academic collaboration, particularly with the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies and the Department of Political Science.
The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, praised the University of Abuja as one of Africa's best and expressed hope for a fruitful working relationship between the two institutions.
The visit included a seminar on "Mutual Learning between Chinese and Nigeria's Civilizations," aimed at fostering cultural understanding between the two countries.
